The Lost Art of Meetings and Why They Are More Important than Ever

August 1, 2017 by Reporter Leave a Comment

Image: http://www.commisceo-global.com/images/easyblog_articles/1645/business_meeting_3.jpg

With all the smartphones, laptops, tablets, and other mobile devices in our pockets and on our desks, it’s difficult to imagine the world without instant communication. Yet, it really wasn’t so long ago that this was a reality; a time when face to face meetings reigned supreme and success in business was all about networking.

It could be argued that we’ve lost some of that ability to schmooze and charm because the majority of modern meetings are conducted over the telephone. Or, they’re plugged in and hooked up to video conferencing tools like Skype and FaceTime. The question is, was it something worth holding on to?

Keep reading to learn about the art of the face to face meeting and why it’s still important in our face paced digital world.

Stimulate with New Environments

Studies show that the human brain works faster and harder when it is exposed to a new environment. This is, essentially, like warming up your muscles before a workout. Providing novel stimuli is a great way to activate the mind so that it’s ready to learn.

You can’t do this over the phone or via a video conference. You need to get employees, clients, and investors out of their seats and into your world; into a motivating, inspiring environment of your choosing. Visit www.servcorp.com.au/en/meeting-rooms for some great location ideas.

Pass On Valuable Emotions

Similarly, behavioural scientists are keen to point out that strong emotions are contagious. So, if you are a talented speaker or you have great orators in your team, take advantage of these skills. The truth is that people in groups naturally share and mimic emotions.

It’s hard to be lethargic and uninspired if you’re surrounded by people with a great work ethic and lots of energy. Face to face meetings are a powerful way to accelerate this process and make sure that employees and investors are getting caught up in your plans and ideas.

No More Distractions

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a secretary, senior executive, or data processor; we’re all inclined to bend the rules when nobody can see us. This is especially true in the age of conference calls and video streaming. People are much more likely to multitask.

So, if you want to make sure that your agenda is the top priority, a face to face meeting is the best option. It adds weight, significance, and gravitas to the occasion. After all, anybody would pay more attention to a meeting that they have to spend time preparing for and travelling to.

Make Lasting Connections

For entrepreneurs and startup teams, foregoing face-to-face meetings altogether can be a big risk. While you could argue that bigger, more established companies don’t miss out on much, companies which are new to the market need to make memorable first impressions.

This is very hard to do over a Skype or FaceTime call. Even if you chat with an investor and they really love your ideas, you’ll be competing with the dozens of other entrepreneurs who made the time to interact in person. Be memorable, be present, and be unforgettable.

How to Find the Best Meeting Spaces in Australia

Twenty years ago, you might have found it hard to rent a meeting space or boardroom with flexible terms. In many cases, these facilities were either included as part of office packages or rented out for months at a time. Now, things have changed a little, and there are plenty of ways to access ‘pay as you go’ resources.

One of the best is working with a virtual or coworking provider. These vendors rent out shared office space on a ‘pay as you use’ basis, so you’re not obliged to rent an entire suite to make use of the meeting facilities. Nor do you have to book out the rooms months in advance. For a small fee, you can access a range of shared environments and hire boardrooms whenever you need them.

Possible bearish reversal in silver as resistance cluster ahead

June 19, 2017 by Reporter Leave a Comment

After the long bearish ride in the silver, the initial bottom is formed near the critical support level at 16.09.The professional silver trader made a decent profit by riding the long bearish rally in the market. The global market has been facing an extreme level of uncertainty in the recent days and trading CFD has become extremely difficult as the investors don’t have any clear clue regarding the next movement of the mighty U.S dollar. The U.S dollar index has fallen sharply in the ground after Mr. Trump failed to keep his promise regarding fiscal spending and tax cut policy.

Technical analysis of silver in the 4 hour time frame

image

Figure: Silver heading towards the 17.35 level in the 4 hour time frame

From the above figure you can clearly see that the price has bottomed near 16.09 mark and after that, it has started its correction. The price has nicely retraced back above the 38.2 percent Fibonacci retracement level and now currently heading towards the 50 percent retracement level. The professional traders have been trading CFD with an extreme level of caution nowadays since the price of a commodity is now showing wild momentum in the market very often. However, the investors are not staying on the sideline rather they are making the best possible trade in the volatile market.

U.S economic conditions: The performance of the U.S economy is not that great in recent days as most of the leading investors are in doubt regarding the next movement of the green bucks. The green bucks have lost most of its bullish strength in the global market after Mr. Trump failed to keep his promise regarding the increase of fiscal spending and tax cut policy. According to the leading economist, the green bucks might face an extreme level of bearish pressure in the upcoming days as Mr. Trump administration has done very little for the welfare of the U.S economy and made trading CFD extremely difficult. The U.S dollar index which is the overall value of the green buck’s strength in the global market has dropped from its 14 years high in the global market and allowed the price of silver to rally higher. Despite such weak performance from the U.S economy, the optimistic dollar bulls are still in hope that the green bucks will be back again to its former glory upon the interest rate hike decision made by FED chairperson Janet Yellen.

Expectations in market movements: Though the price of silver is rallying higher with a strong bullish momentum in the global market most of the leading investors are thinking that the price will ultimately cap down by the 50 percent Fibonacci retracement level drawn on the daily chart. Moreover, the price has started showing exhaustion candle in the daily time frame which is a very clear indication that the bulls are running out of steam in the global market. Though the overall sentiment for the price of silver remains extremely bearish at the current moment a clear break of the 61.8 percent Fibonacci retracement level will confirm the initial bottom formation in the long term bearish trend in the market. To be precise this will inaugurate the fresh bullish trend in the price of silver which will ultimately dominate the market for at least couple of weeks.

Summary: The price of silver is now trading near a critical zone and the professional traders are cautiously waiting to short the silver to trade in favor of the long-term trend in the market. Though the market is exhibiting a tempting short opportunity the traders should be extremely careful since it might even start a fresh bullish trend in the upcoming weeks. So make sure when you execute the trades in the market you follow proper risk management factors to save your trading capital.

Smart Tips to Foster a Promising Relationship with Your Channel Partners

May 16, 2017 by Reporter Leave a Comment

customer service 2017

Your channel partners play a key role in how your products perform in the retail markets. Since most channel partners sell multiple products including your competitors’, in the general consumer markets, you cannot take them for granted at all. Channel partners can literally make or break your sales.

If you want to meet your sales goals and increase profits, you need to have a sound relationship with your channel partners. Here are some essential tips to improve channel partner relationship and uplift your profits and sales.

  • Let Them Decide on the Margins

Business relationships with your channel partners are all about preserving your business interests and profit goals. Establishing a strategic relationship with your channel partners requires extensive working to settle on agreed terms that reap mutually beneficial benefits.

Channel partners seek to establish partnerships with businesses that offer flexibility, convenience as well as optimal profitability. Businesses on the other hand demand smooth and efficient distribution of their products and the accomplishment of targeted sales objectives. A better idea is to let the channel partners decide on the profit margins and discount strategies that also complement your business objectives.

  • Get Them On Board in Campaigns

solutions for your company channels

Involving your channel partners in designing sales-oriented promotional campaigns is a good strategy to boost your sales. Channel partners being the intermediaries between the business and retail markets have a better understanding of consumer’s preferences and the factors that influence their purchase decisions.

Getting them on board to devise short-term strategies to increase sales is a good approach to create on-point promotion campaigns that hit just the right notes and accomplish the goals. This will also instil confidence and trust between you and your channel partners.

  • Ensure Instant Resolution of Errors and Conflicts

Errors, setbacks, and conflicts are the common occupational hazards that come along with the advantages of a business partnership. Make it a point to keep a regular check on the scheme of things and regular operations. This will help you identify any issue or conflict related to price or distribution mechanism and makes it convenient for you to troubleshoot in a timely manner.

  • Conduct Periodic Consultation

In order to foster a profitable and lasting relationship with your channel partners, you need to have an insight into your channel partner’s opinions, concerns, and perception about your business. Conduct regular meetings, and ask them for their opinion on how they think the relationship can be improved.

Devise a comprehensive channel partner program and offer incentives, recognition, and rewards. Certain automated, cloud-based programs such as Power2Motivate make it convenient for you to establish a platform to improve your relationship with channel partners and seek an accelerated business sales.

  • Seek Lasting Relationships

Switching between the various vendors, distributors and channel partners will only bring you a bad repute in the market. It will negatively affect your credibility and revoke the top vendors and distributors from establishing a partnership with your business.

Do a thorough research and analyse your option before establishing a sales partnership. Once you have made the deal, you must focus on how you can sustain it for long term prospects.

How To Make A Perfect Website And The Best Tools To Achieve It

April 6, 2017 by Reporter Leave a Comment

building something online

So you want to build a website, but you have no idea how to get started. You’ve never done it before, and you have no idea how to code. Are you really capable of doing this? Of course you are. Here’s some tips on how to get the perfect website built, and some very useful tools to help you achieve your vision.

You don’t need to know how to code

Even a few years ago, you couldn’t have created a website without knowing at least some code. Now, though, there’s lots of software available online that will help you get your website together. It’s all online, so there’s no need to download anything. It’s easy to use, too. Most software just lets you drag and drop features, so everything is exactly where you want it. The best part is that it’s all simple to understand.

Use templates

If you’re a real newbie when it comes to putting a website together, you may not know where each element of the site should go. That’s why templates are a good idea for you. You can pick one, and then change the text and images to get it looking unique and designed with your purposes in mind.

Buy your own domain name

1 click install for webs and cpanel

Using online website builders is a good idea, but one drawback is that you won’t have your own domain name. That can be easily fixed, though. All you have to do is go and buy your domain. Think of something short and snappy, that will describe what your website does. Buy that domain, and then link it to your website. The directions will this differ depending on which software you’re using, but finding the instructions is easy. Once that’s done, if you type in your new website address, it’ll point to that website. Easy!

Integrating eCommerce

If you’re going to sell through your website, before you do anything you need to check if your software can handle it. Most website creators have some form of eCommerce tools available, but you want to ensure that it will be safe for people to buy from you. That’s why Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology must be present, to avoid identity theft.

Have confidence in yourself

You may not have built a website before, but you’ve used plenty and you know what a good website looks like. You can create a website with just a few clicks, so it’s easier than ever to get started. You too can create something great online.

Tools to get you started

Ready to get making your website? Then here are some tools that you can put to good use:

– Avocode: This website gives you the easier way to code your own website. You can even invite in collaborators to give you a hand.

– Sketch: This graphic design tool is used by high ranking websites such as Buzzfeed, Paypal and Google. It makes the process of designing your site much simpler and easier to understand.

– Best Australian Writers: You’re going to need content, so why not get help? This site gives you access to all of the writers that you will ever need.

– UXPin: You’ll need to play around with different elements of your website design before you can implement them. This tool allows you to do this with ease.

– Marvel: This is the best tool to start creating prototypes of your website. Get a feel for how it looks before it goes live.

Now you have the tools to hand, go create that website. You too can create a website that visitors will love.

Flicking the Switch – 5 Easy Office Additions to Simplify the Workplace Experience

March 29, 2017 by Reporter Leave a Comment

office work space

Think of all the time we spend in our working environments.

Most people in full-time employment spend 38-40 hours at work per week. If you were to add that up for every week of the year (and factor in 4 weeks of annual leave per year), you’d get 1,824 hours per year. That’s a lot of time to be spending in a complex, unhappy workplace.

If you’re looking to enrich, simplify and brighten your working days, look no further. Here are 5 ideas for easy additions to your office to help keep your daily grind more manageable.

Upgrading Your Technology

One of the most challenging and overly complex parts of many modern workplaces is the (often archaic) and convoluted technologies we have to work with. Forward-thinking workplaces are adopting smarter, easily integrated technologies, like VOIP ( try Commander Centre VoIP Phone Systems) which allows workers to communicate instantly with the use of voice, over a safe, stable internet connection.

This eliminates some of the haziness of email communication and the constant back-and-forth emailing can bring.

Bring The Outside In

This might sound counter intuitive, but bringing a little bit of the outside world into your workplace can create a mood of lightness, brightness and calm.

Q: How can a workplace bring in the outside world?

A: Plants. Indoor plants can add vibrancy and much needed fresh air to an otherwise dull and grey working environment. Plants remind of of our connection to the outside world, and they are great for creating transitions between employee work spaces (rather than bland partitions and doors).

The inclusion of plants in our workplaces is also thought to add to our productivity – welcome news for both employers and employees!

Breaking Out

A fun and varied workplace environment encourages colleagues to congregate and feel at ease in their surroundings, and it can also create a further sense of calm (see above).

Create spaces within spaces at your workplace; like an area for relaxing with a coffee, or for lunch-breaks. If you have the room and the resources, add an area with games (table tennis, table soccer, air hockey). Some other less-noisy (and costly) ideas include adding a craft area (with basic supplies like magazines, glue, scissors and paint for scrapbooking) and providing a coffee machine. A well caffeinated workplace is a well-working (and fast working) workplace! It’s a ‘daily grind’ you can really get behind.

Encouraging employees to use these little spaces also reduces the time spent outside of the working environment, which can add to overall business productivity. It also encourages creativity in the workplace, and provides an outlet for stress relief.

Keep A Central Portal

Another simple (often overlooked) factor in creating a simplified, happy workplace, is to have an easily available employee portal, like an ‘intranet’ site. These are one-stop-shops for employee information, contact numbers, and important HR/Payroll notices. Referring employees to a company intranet site for information and important information is much easier, and much more reliable than individually disseminating information.

Light & Easy

Another so-simple solution to workplace doldrums, is the introduction of ambient and bespoke lighting.

To achieve this, place lamps, lanterns, and other devices which distribute and diffuse light (in more pleasant ways than traditional fluorescent tube lights) across the workplace accordingly. An added benefit to doing this, is that it can modernise and redecorate a tired workplace. Win, win!

—

There are many cost effective and easy solutions to the myriad complexities of workplace life.

Armed with some of the fixes above, you will hopefully have a better understanding of how to introduce calm and simplicity into your working environment.

Knowledge of certain software and electronic components is an unstated prerequisite for landing a mechanical engineering job today. For this reason, you should find out about and learn the basics of disciplines related to mechanical engineering.

Stay in touch with your Alma matter

Your Alma matter i.e. the university you attended can help you to increase your networking reach and find a ‘decent-paying’ job. Therefore, keeping in touch with the faculty and staff at your university even after you graduate is important.

Finding a mechanical engineering job in Australia is easy but only if you follow the steps that guarantee employment. By following the aforementioned tips, you’ll be able to find a mechanical engineering job in Australia and take your career to the next level.

Why Branded Merchandise Should Be Part Of Your Long Term Strategy?

December 26, 2016 by Reporter Leave a Comment

cusotmised gear for 2017

We all own something with a logo printed on it that we were handed at a promotional campaign of some business. The great thing about these items is that as long as they stay in front of our sight, they are remarketing the brand to the beholder.

Creating a Lasting Impression

PPAI’s research survey shows that 62% of people remember the name and colours of a company that offered them promotional goodies. Promotional products are great at serving as reminders of the brand. Customer loyalty and improved customer relations can result from the genius use of such promotional gifts. It creates an urgent appreciation and gratitude that creates a positive association. When you include your contact details on the product, customers are more likely to call you as you are easy to reach and they do not want to brain storm for comparative services.

Valuable Advertising Space

A majority of people work 8 hours every day. As such, many of these people sit in one spot on their desk. During this time, if your prospective client is using branded materials or a printed merchandise item, it is highly likely that they would think of you whenever they need the product you are dealing in. A well-selected product can easily become a permanent billboard of the brand and the message you are trying to send for as long as the item lasts.

Customize Your Promotional Item

You can add a personal touch to your promotional item according to the type of customer you are trying to reach. When you are specific about the way you market your brand, it further filters the right people for you to market to, that are the people who are likely going to use your product. The promotional merchandise works to make them like your brand, as opposed to people who don’t relate to the message in your promotional campaign and you just hand them the printed t-shirts.

Branded and Useful Merchandise

Promotional gifts have more impact when they are useful for the recipient. You do not necessarily select a promotional item because it looks great or that it looks amazing, but because it comes in handy. People are going to keep and carry around things they know they need, especially if they are getting it for free! The good news is that every time that they gaze upon it, that promotional item will be marketing your brand. Businesses want their promotional merchandise to be seen on a daily basis for maximum benefit and for the least cost per impression. That is exactly what you are getting here, except the fact that it is at a much cheaper price as compared to other alternatives.

Cost Effective

Correctly targeted merchandise that is given to the target market can boost sales. If you are taking care of minimizing the cost of producing the item, you are in for good long-term profits for the business.

Super Guide to Get The Best Value Web Hosting in 2017

December 10, 2016 by Reporter Leave a Comment

Like renting an apartment or an office space, you need to get the best value for your money when considering a web hosting service to pay for.

certate a website

Many websites out there are offering different web hosting services. Some are as cheap as sand while some others could be very expensive.

While it all boils down to your preference and how much money you are willing to pay, there are certain considerations to take when deciding who will be your website host.

Your web host is an influential part of your website and you should only go for the best quality available for your financial muscle.

Here are certain things you should look out for in a potential web host.

1. Reliability

Is your website host offering a 24-hour service? You lose customers and money whenever your website goes down or is inaccessible.

“Your website visitors often won’t have the patience of waiting and trying again later, especially as there are many other websites out there who offer the same or similar services as you do.Your web hosting service provider should be reliable and consistent. Going for experience is important here.”_ Brandan from Umbrella Website Hosting

The best web host will offer a round-the-clock service, which means your website will always be reachable at all times of the day.

2. 24/7 Customer support

What happens if you suddenly encounter an issue with your website? Does your host have a support system in place to help you solve any technical difficulties? Is your host readily available to help out?

These are important questions to which you should seek clarity before deciding to invest your hard-earned money into a web hosting service. You should be able to contact your web host and get quick feedback via email, phone or other available channels.

3. Disk capacity

Web space is cheap. Try to get as much disk space as you can get.

Although this may not matter much as the onset, as your website grows, you may require more and more web space to store your content.

It is an important factor for you to consider and make sure your host can make more space available to you as your demands grow without charging extra costs.

4. Speed

The world is moving at a break neck speed and time is the new currency.

Everyone is looking for the fastest option and speed is synonymous with quality. From iPhones to android phones, everyone is focusing on speed.

Your website has to load fast to keep visitors interested. A research by Akamai shows that 40% of online visitors quickly abandon sites that take too long to load. And how much is ‘too long’? Just 3 seconds.

This further highlights the importance of your website’s loading speed. Your web host should be able to provide a fast and easy to load website that will allow you keep your customers and attract new visitors.

5. Ease of access

You should not have to take a special course to be able to use your website. Basic computer skills should be sufficient.

Your website should be easy to use. It should be simple enough for you to get the best out of it. You should be able to carry out simple tweaks and template designs on your website.

A well-structured, user-friendly control panel that allows you carry out essential tasks with minimum stress is a necessity.

6. Pricing and subscription

You should get what you pay for. Your web host should clearly state the terms and conditions of the package to which you subscribe without any hidden charges.

A standard pricing system is essential both for the first year sign up and for subsequent annual renewals.

7. Add-ons

Email is an important business marketing tool and many web hosting companies offer email hosting together with, or separate from, the web hosting package. It is important that you make sure of the subscription terms rather than acting under assumption.

Other features such as subdomains, advertising credits, SSL certification, shopping carts, one-click app installs are also important for your website. These are features that add more value to your website.

8. Back up

I have decided to save the best for the last.

Beyond all the factors discussed above, an essential feature of a good web hosting service is having a secure back up.

What happens if your site suddenly crashes? Are all your files and contents just – gone?

You must ensure that your web hosting service provider has a secure, and up-to-date back up for your website at all times. Not having an adequate back up or no back up at all can prove very costly for your website.

The need for back up can be easily overlooked. But it something you ignore at your own loss.

The price of web hosting is one of the costs of running your business. However, it is a cost that is necessary; more so in this technology age.

How Drones and Virtual Reality Change and Improve the Building Industry for Good

December 5, 2016 by Reporter Leave a Comment

Savvy businesses in the construction industry are exploring on technological advancements to solve the challenges their industry face. They’re constantly looking for solutions to reduce production costs, mitigate employee’s safety, boost production, and improve competitiveness. At present, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)—also known as drones and virtual reality (VR) are helping construction companies achieve these goals.

The precision of both UAVs and VR technology are a great contribution to the industry’s professionals. Land surveyors use drones in measuring and mapping construction sites while engineers use it to monitor ongoing construction. On the other hand, VR technology enable architects to efficiently plan and design projects.

Together, VR and drones are not just streamlining business operations, but revolutionising the entire industry.

Drones take engineering and surveying to the new heights

Drones are not limited to commercial use. These unmanned aircraft also proved that they be a leverage for construction companies who use them.

One of the best application of UAVs in construction is in land surveying. Surveyors are the the first group of people at a construction site. Their task is to map the construction site and produce accurate measurements, which will be used to apply for building permits. These measurements will also be used by builders in the construction phase. They use equipment such as robotic total station theodolites, global positioning systems (GPS), and laser scanners when deployed to do field work.

Sometimes, a construction site has steep grades and equipment which are dangerous especially when you’re carrying heavy tools. Based on previous reports, most fatalities and injuries in the construction industry are due to falls. As a solution, companies equip surveyors with drones, especially when deployments are too difficult or too risky for their employees.

Instead of sending the worker in a hazardous situation, these companies let their employees pilot the drone from a safe spot near the construction site. Drones can navigate over the site and quickly capture high-quality video and still photography. It can go within dangerous and previously inaccessible areas.

Despite remote operation, surveyors can still produce accurate measurements using a process called photogrammetry. Photogrammetry is the science of making measurements from photographs. The output of this process is a UAV Map—an accurate digital drawing or 3D model of the construction site which architects and engineers can use in the design and construction phase. With these in thought, drones reduce a worker’s exposure in the field, hence keeping them safe from accidents and other life threatening events.

In addition, some drones, especially semi to fully autonomous ones have built-in intelligence and sensors with it. This allows the drone to accomplish the task programmed by the remote pilot alone. The sensors also record other important surveillance information such as position and movement of the drone, distance, temperature, pressure, colour, light, sound, and even climate.

These possibilities with UAV technology help builders identify potential risks at the construction site. It enables them to do preventive measures and avoid future problems with the structure they’re building. Knowing these things help them optimize costs of construction and maintenance.

Efficient inspection and project monitoring tools

Aside from surveying, engineers also use drones in inspecting an ongoing construction of a structure. Hovering a drone over a construction site helps a firm monitor the progress of a project. Engineers get a first hand data of improvements, as well as problems in construction. Through this, they can keep a project on track and within the budget.

Large companies who manage multiple projects at the same time can also save energy, time, and money in deploying engineers and drones. Numerous pairs of engineers with a semi to fully autonomous drones can monitor different job sites. The drones act as substitute to the heavy software and equipment, which still produce complex readings in a construction site.

Furthermore, the companies can include drone videos and photos when submitting reports to their clients. It’s an inventive way of showing the client the progress of construction.

At the moment, the construction sector is excited to find out more about what else can UAV technology contribute to the building industry. The new drone regulations in Australia also enabled them to explore and experiment with this technological breakthrough in construction.

VR meets Architecture for a better design experience

Another huge leap that took place in the construction industry was the use of virtual reality in building design. Architecture experts worldwide saw it as a whole new way of designing—an innovation that changes the way people design residential and commercial structures.

When architecture met VR technology, architects were able to show their clients a realistic view of their project in a computer simulated environment. In the process, the client will wear VR goggles which will help them see 3D renderings that are captured in real-time. They also use hand-held devices to track the movement of the user in the digital environment.

Some Australian architecture firms like Superdraft Pty. Ltd develop their own virtual reality experience. The company named theirs as Viz360, a design software similar to a game where the clients can enter doors, look out the windows, use the stairs, and change pieces of furniture. Through this, their clients experience the structure before it is built. They can also fully engage themselves in the design process.

At the same time, VR technology also made it possible for architects to explain huge design changes to their clients. The clients can see changes in real time through the VR goggles, hence they can express their requests and the designer will understand their expectations. With these in thought, VR technology assures the clients on the output. Assurance begets trust and that may convince them to buy the design and proceed to construction.

Changing how work is done

To take advantage of these innovations in the industry, companies should make them an active part of their business process. The use of UAV and VR technology changes the roles of the employees, but they’re not replacing humans. These digital workers are created to ease the workload and to decrease their stress levels. Through this, humans can focus more on finding smart and creative ways to build structures.
